THIS IS HOW YOU WILL BREAK THE WORLD.

THIS IS HOW YOU WILL SHATTER THE SPIRAL.

Do you understand?

Cowards scramble for the power immanent

in the brave and the bold.

Cultivations are the disciplines, traditions, sects, schools, initiations, mandalas, martial arts, and so on of the whorl. There are many of them.

They are the paths for cultivating power. But the better among us cultivate for enlightenment.

The best among us cultivate for compassion.

The unsurpassable among us cultivate for violence.

You choose one cultivation as your embodied **cultivation.

You get the empowerments* **of that cultivation.

The cultivations here are also the most common ones used

during the first and second world revolutions.

Cultivations used to be highly guarded secrets. Once privy only to the priestly caste

or the princely caste. Or the new capitalist caste. And now, in post-capital,

the ruling caste.

But the revolutions split that apart. Now any being, according to their want, can

choose to walk down the royal road of cultivation.

To cultivate power. Or enlightenment. Or benevolence. Or violence.

In this rules manual, there are sixteen cultivations. There will be more, eventually:

The Partisans are: Adamant Sword, Eschatonian, Fusilwitch, Monsoon Dancer

The Vanguards are: Devil Tiger, Glaresage, Merciful Shield, Vajra Boxer

The Saboteurs are: Charnelseer, Exorcist, Machinist, Smirking Devil

The Cadres are: Astrologian, Firebrand, Magochemist, Physicker

Duties

The Revolution split all cultivations according to Duty to the Party. **It was so useful that every Cultivation that has been made and will ever be made can fall under one of the four duties.

There are four duties:

Partisans **ruin to the enemy forces with overwhelming firepower, deft assassin-skill, or long-range sniping. The task of a Partisan Cultivation is…

✦ …to inflict catastrophic damage upon the enemy with overwhelming strikes.

✦ …move through unassailed and unnoticed behind enemy lines.

✦ …infiltrate key points with superior movement or unmatched sight-lines.

Vanguards **fight in the frontlines. Attract the attention. The task of a Vanguard Cultivation is…

✦ …to keep the heat on them and stay alive as long as possible. Match enemies blow for blow.

✦ …block off strategic points, impede hostile movement, threaten enemy ranks.

✦ …to fight in the frontlines and force tough decisions from members of the enemy party.

Saboteurs **changed the battlefield, debilitated enemies, harried with strange sciences, even stranger magicks, and controlled key areas. The task of a Saboteur Cultivation is…

✦ …to control the battlefield by changing it, shifting the terrain, or hurting large swathes of the battlefield at a time.

✦ …debilitate enemy forces by imposing crippling statuses upon them, or breaking their weapons, or their armors, or force them to lose resources.

✦ …to be versatile as a key for trudging through enemy lines, creating walls, lines, and other useful tools and obstacles that help the Party while hindering the enemy.

Cadres **rejuvenate, restore, strengthen, **and mobilize the mass line. They organize and discipline. The backbone and pillar of the Party. The task of a Cadre Cultivation is…

✦ …to heal, restore, and sustain comrades through hardship and battle.

✦ …to strengthen the Party and amplify their abilities.

✦ …to grant the Party and their allies Boons to help turn the tide of battle.

Focus

Each Cultivation also has a Focus. This is explicitly what they cultivate. All Cultivations cultivate some form of power and enlightenment. But how this is expressed or what is Cultivated alongside power and enlightenment and benevolence is different per Cultivation.

There are Four Cultivation Focuses. There will be more**—**

Physical Cultivations focus on cultivating the physical abilities and prowesses. To the point of superhuman capability. Enlightenment through Perfection.

Magick Cultivations focus on cultivating the magick skill and ability. To tap the Reality past Unreality. Enlightenment through Ritual.

Holy Cultivations focus on cultivating the ability to deal with inhuman entities as well as the ability to visualize, manifest, and contend with beings greater than one’s own. Enlightenment through Reverence.

Psychic Cultivations focus on cultivating one’s Mind to glean greater mysteries and smash the barriers of Enlightenment. Enlightenment through Meditation.

Physical Magick Holy Psychic

Vanguards Vajra Boxer, Devil Tiger Glaresage Merciful Shield

Empowerments

Each Cultivation has Empowerments. These are attainments and accomplishments you get depending on how much you’ve learned in that Discipline. There are three Empowerments—Initiate, Adept, and Master. You get an Empowerment immediately after you learn the required Abilities.

Only those that have attained Master Empowerments can teach Abilities of their Cultivation.

Initiate Empowerments (✧) unlock once you spend Enlightenment.

Adept Empowerments (✧✧) are unlocked by spending Enlightenment.

Master Empowerments (✧✧✧) are unlocked by spending Enlightenment again.

These are sequential. To unlock Adept Empowerment, you must first unlock the Initiate Empowerment.

Empowerments also have Meridians. Four of them. One in your Crown, one in your Brow—where your Third Eye is, one in your Heart, and one in your Groin. You start with your Crowns and Brows unlocked. You unlock your third Meridian (your Heart Meridian) at Enlightenment Stage 3+. You unlock your fourth Meridian (your Groin Meridian) at Enlightenment Stage 5+.
