From Emptiness, A Question

Who will you become?

This is not a song of peace and love. Love has long passed us. We grip onto hope with bloody knuckles. You have nothing to claim. Claim what is yours.

You are commonfolk. Nothing special. Specialness comes afterwards.

When the world has been mended and the thrones have been shattered.

All beings are born from four material conditions: A Name. An Origin. A Truth. And an Alignment.

1 — Name

A Name. The shortest poem. Make one up. Or roll. Or choose. These are syllables. Put together one or two or three or four. Roll a six-sided die multiple times. As many as you want.

Modify any syllable: add a consonant before or after. Or change a vowel.

d6 twice 1 2 3 4 5 6
1 sa ta ka tat sa ket
2 ang ra ju den tar kag
3 ma gan ha wi sang a
4 hom ling soe ya djo li
5 ki moeng zan sat mi ui
6 ja feng reng tong ri xe

2 — Origin

An origin. The lotus from the mud. Your homeland. Or family. Make one up or choose or roll 2d6. Some ideas:

[2] Makcho. The far northeast people. Who have built ziggurats and cultivate their special commodity of chocolate, chili peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes.

[3] Melokite. The largest island in the Heavenshards. Born to mine. Once slaves, now constantly attempting to be free. Chained by imperialism.

[4] Dakdu. The mountain spine people. Those that live in Kij Dakmala’s habitable regions. Worshippers of the mountain’s gods.

[5] Hokou. The technological center of Shen. Major advances in karma machinery. Height of technological advancement.

[6] Tsingssi. The Capital of Shen, the Middle Kingdom. Where one hundred dragons—the masses—rule.

[7] Selorong. The heart of the world. A haven of multiculturalism. A hell of socioeconomic ideologies. The final stage of history. Communism’s last bastion.

[8] Uzu. The Holy Amatsu Empire’s capital city. The Empire’s steel lotus. Giant mechs made in the shape of samurai. Mystic spiritualist-adepts working to placate the Bureaucracy of the Land.
